Paris, The City of Lights
It's difficult to experience all of Paris's cathedrals, museums, shops, cafés and scenic neighborhoods in one visit. However, every visit should include the Arc de Triomphe, which leads into the Champs Elysées, full of upscale shops, restaurants and people-watching galore. The Eiffel Tower, of coures, is de rigueur, as are the spectacular Musée Picasso and the Musée d'Orsay. Simply orienting oneself within the staggering collections of the miles of galleries of the Louvre will take an entire day. Notre Dame, Paris's iconic cathedral, draws thousands of visitors daily. For a taste of the local life, advise clients to spend a day on the Left Bank exploring the cafes and bookshops of literary legend.
Shopping
Paris is a shoppers' paradise and each district has its own specialties. Upscale shops line the Rue de Rivoli and Faubourg de St. Honoré on the Right Bank. Also on the Right Bank are the unique department stores of Paris, such as Le Printemps and La Samaritaine.
The Left Bank around St. Germain is home to many art and antiques galleries. Boulevard St. Michel, or Boul' Mich as it is known among students, has many bookstores and budget outlets of all kinds. The flea markets of Paris are also enormous and world-renowned. Check Pariscope (available at newstands) for hours.
